Cecilia:

What can you tell us about arts organizations so I can try to share some thoughts?

Hi, Jeff.
Another idea for the "Seven Days of Blog" festival:
As you know, there is a vast and vibrant arts community in the DC area, and they are almost all under the umbrella of "non-profit" even though they are not associations. I worked in the arts section for 18 months and enjoyed it because of the exposure to artists and creativity. However, I did see a lack of management/business discipline.
What do you think the association section of the community can teach the arts section, and vice versa?

Here's the link to the article if others want to see it:

It's in the Washington Post archives already, but was published on Feb. 19, 2004, if anyone wants to get the paper copy.

Can you post the link to the article in the Washington Post?

Hi, Jeff.
Just checking out the site again and had an idea for you to consider for the big "Seven Days of Blog" Festival.
I recently saw an article in the Washington Post about how the Japanese do EVERYTHING with their cell phones now, including watching television. The photo that accompanied the article showed a group of twenty-somethings watching the Prime Minister's speech LIVE on their picture phones.
Do you think picture phones could someday replace annual meetings??
