I'm very excited to be attending the Fortune Innovation Forum next week in New York City. The program looks excellent and I will be blogging the meeting. The blog has been up for about a month it it is very good. I was hoping to contribute even before the meeting but...well you get the picture.
The innovators to be discussed during the meeting include HBO, Starbucks, Fedex and Target. I'm particularly excited to hear from Blue Ocean Strategy co-author and INSEAD professor W. Chan Kim. Professor Kim will address the subject of blue ocean strategy, i.e., the idea of creating entirely new markets through value innovation rather than competing head-to-head. I'm a big fan of the book, and I am incorporating its ideas into my work in the association community.
Anyway, there are many other outstanding speakers who will be at the conference, as well as some other cool experiences. I'll write more about it all next week when I'm there!
